SBS Launches Five-part Kinase Course: PerkinElmer to sponsor Kinase Screening and Profiling Module
The Society for Biomolecular Sciences (SBS) announces its first virtual worldwide seminar, “The Biomolecular Science of Protein Kinase-Targeted Compound Discovery.”
This course consists of five, two-hour modules offered as a webinar. Its goal is to illustrate the methods and issues in developing small molecule compounds that target protein kinases. While the course will focus on kinases, many of the topics that will be covered are common to the process of discovering small molecules that mediate the activity of any biological target or pathway. These include issues inherent to assay development, compound management, high-throughput screening, chemical library design and data management.
This course should be of interest to researchers specifically involved in protein kinase focused discovery as well as those with a general interest in learning about how small molecules are discovered and developed for a particular biological target.
Module 1: The Kinome: Small Molecule Discovery and Pharmacology
Module 2: Methods and Issues in Selecting Protein Kinase Targets
Module 3: Cell based and Biochemical Assay Strategies for Kinase Screening and Profiling*
Module 4: Chemical Library Development and Lead Optimization of Kinase Inhibitors
Module 5: Development and Clinical Trials for Kinase Targeted Compounds
